The Battle of Monte Cassino 1944 ” 
Tuesday 9th May 2017 at 7.30pm

Frank Pleszak will be describing the Battle of Monte Cassino, a costly series of four assaults by the Allies against the Winter Line in Italy held by Axis forces during the Italian Campaign of World War II. The intention was a breakthrough to Rome.

Frank has written several military history books and is currently working on a history of the Polish 2nd Corps in World War 2.

Frank’s father served with the Polish 2nd Corps at the battle and special attention will be focused on these forces.

All are welcome and a lively discussion is guaranteed!
