Merseyside Polonia, a non-profit organisation, hosts engaging events in order to promote good relationships between Polish residents and local communities.
This particular gathering will celebrate Polish Constitution Day and introduce to our guests a notion of freedom in Polish arts. The Polish Constitution of the 1791 gave liberation to the oppressed working class and inspired many generations of Poles in their struggle for independence. In the times of rebellion against political regimes of the 80ies, the underground music scene was thriving.
In partnership with Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw we will show the documentary film âBeats of Freedomâ by Wojciech Słota i Leszek Gnoiński. The film highlights how art helped to establish an alternative sense of freedom in oppressed Poland. Please join us to discuss and explore history of Eastern European indie music movement and experience the unique atmosphere of the past!

Wydarzenia kulturalne Merseyside Polonia kształtują pozytywne relacje pomiędzy społecznościami polską i brytyjską. Dzień Konstytucji 3 Maja zainspirował wiele generacji Polaków do wysiłku na rzecz poprawy sytuacji polityczno-społecznej w kraju – “Wolność w sztuce” pozwoli nam wspólnie uczcić uchwalenie Konstytucji oraz zastanowić się nad istotą wolności.
We współpracy z Instytutem Adama Mickiewicza w Warszawie zaprezentujemy film Wojciecha Słoty i Leszka Gnoińskiego “Beats of Freedom – Zew wolności”. Jest to ekscytująca opowieść o czasach buntu, stawianiu czoła politycznemu reżimowi i tworzeniu muzyki, która stała się częścią historii Polski.
